2nd Phase of Rate Increase is Here: What You Need to Know
Starting June 1, 2019 Housatonic Water Works rates will reflect an increase in water rates recently approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. These new rates reflect an increase in operating costs and significant water system replacement costs for meters and mains. Also, for equipment to monitor and calculate peak hourly flow and chlorine residuals for reliable daily contact time information and a supervisory control and data acquisitions (“SCADA”) system.
For an average residential customer using 3,000 gallons per month, this equates to an increase of $4.24 on your monthly bill or about 14 cents per day.
